Pricing and booking FAQ

All service fees are quoted and invoiced in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). For international clients, we provide a USD and EUR equivalent at the current Central Bank of Egypt rate at the time of invoicing. Payment is accepted by bank transfer to our Cairo account or via international wire. We do not currently accept credit card payments directly, but can arrange this via an international payment intermediary at a 2.5% processing fee.
Yes, completely. The first 30-minute consultation — whether by phone, video call, or in person at our Cairo office — carries no fee and no obligation. This session is used to understand your interests, travel dates, group composition, and budget so we can confirm which package applies and provide an accurate cost estimate. If after the consultation you decide not to proceed, there is nothing further owed.
Under the Scholar package, guide days are available as an add-on at EGP 3,200 per day for groups of 1–4 persons. For groups of 5–8, the fee reduces to EGP 4,400 per day. Groups over 8 require two guides and are priced accordingly. Under the Expedition package, two full guide days are included. Under Immersion, five days are included, with additional days available at the same add-on rate. A "full day" means up to 8 hours on-site including travel between locations within a single region.
Site entry fees are not included in base package prices — they are itemised separately on your invoice at the official Ministry of Tourism rate applicable to your visitor category. We provide a full projected breakdown of all anticipated site fees as part of the itinerary document, before you confirm. There are no markups on permit or entry costs; these are passed through at the exact official rate.
Minor changes — timing adjustments, site substitutions, group size changes of up to two persons — can be made up to 5 business days before your arrival at no additional charge, subject to availability. Significant changes requiring permit re-applications, guide re-scheduling, or logistics rebooking may incur a revision fee of EGP 480–960, depending on complexity. We will always notify you before incurring a change fee and seek your approval.
Cancellation 30 or more days before your arrival date: full refund of planning fees, minus a 10% administration charge. Cancellation 15–29 days before arrival: 50% refund of planning fees. Cancellation fewer than 15 days before arrival: planning fees are non-refundable. All permit and site entry fees paid on your behalf are subject to their issuing authority's own refund policies, which we will communicate clearly at the time of payment. Force majeure cancellations (flight cancellations, health emergencies, civil disruptions) are treated on a case-by-case basis with full documentation.
Yes. University departments, cultural organisations, charitable foundations, and school groups travelling for educational purposes may apply for institutional pricing. The applicable discount depends on group size (typically 12–25% for groups of 8 or more), advance notice (minimum 60 days preferred), and the nature of the programme. Contact us with your institution's details and a brief programme description to receive an institutional quote.
